DSG Gear Box

OBD11 Live data parameters here

Vehicles equipped with DSG gearbox (6-speed OD9) INCORPORATE THE “Inertia mode”. The purpose of this new function is to

Reduce engine consumption and increase the vehicle’s efficiency in the deceleration phase.

The “Inertia mode” is automatically activated under certain conditions. When it comes into action the gearbox disengages the

Clutches allowing the vehicle to free-wheel. While the car is moving the engine is idling.

When the function is active, “E” is displayed on the instrument panel instead of the gear selected. The “Inertia mode” is activated when

The following conditions comply simultaneously:

-      Shift lever set in position D

-      Eco driving profile activated

-      Driving speed higher than 20km/hr

-      Driving on a ramp/hill of less than 8%

-      Accelerator pedal at rest.

When the function is activated the indication is displayed on the instrument panle.

To interrupt the “Inertial mode” when it is active all that needs to be done is:

-      Activate brake pedal

-      Or, one of the activation conditions not being complied with

While the “Inertia mode” is active the gearbox control unit analises the vehicle’s driving speed and selects the

Appropriate speed accordingly to permit a comfortable engaging of the clutch when required.

Water Bottle setup for cars with front light water cleaner

If you don’t have light washers on your car then you will not have the extension bottle on the top however a number of people do complain about the amount

Of water the light cleaning uses and I have added some info in the OBD11 Page on how to adjust the output to reduce water usage.

LED LIGHTS

Driving abroad
The light beam of the dipped beam lights is asymmetric: the side of the road on which you are driving is lit more intensely.
When a car that is manufactured in a country that drives on the right travels to a country that drives on the left (or vice versa), it is normally necessary to cover part of the headlight bulbs with stickers or to change the adjustment of the headlights to avoid dazzling other drivers. In such cases, the regulations specify certain light values that must be complied with for designated points of the light distribution. This is known as “Tourist light”.

The light distribution that the halogen and full-LED headlights of the SEAT Leon range have allows the specific “tourist light” values to be met without the need for stickers or changes in the settings.

Note “Tourist light” is only allowed temporarily. If you are planning a long stay in a country that drives on the other side, you should take the vehicle to an Authorised Technical Service to change the headlights.

Dashboard

This bit of hardware is attached to Control Unit 17 and under live data there is a value called Vehicle configuration.

This live data will show you a number of features you car has and confirms if the coding is set up correctly.
